DAY-HIKE TO LAGUNA TORRE (CERRO TORRE LOOK-OUT)
One beautiful day hike to get used to the terrain and the area. Beech forest where, if we are lucky, we could see a Magellanic Woodpecker. After hiking for an hour and a half we will reach Cerro Torre’s look-out. There we can admire the striking 3100 meters granite needle that has an ice mushroom on top. From there on we have another hour and half to reach the laterals and terminal moraines that contain Laguna Torre.
A great Glacier Grande creation. It is also the source of the Fitz Roy. If we are lucky we may see some torrent ducks playing in its white waters.
Distance of 22 km round trip.
Altitude gain of 300 meters.
