Laguna de los tres (Fitz Roy Look-out)
Main reason why most people come to this corner of the world: Cerro Fitz Roy or Chaltén (Mountain that smokes or smoky mountain, as Tehuelches named her). One of the most beautiful hikes, but slightly harder. We set off from El Chaltén, about 30 to 45 minutes of hike, we reach Rio de las Vueltas look – out. 1 hour more takes us to Fitz Roy first look-outs and one more hour to Poincenot Camp and Rio Blanco Camp (Cerro Fitz Roy base camps). Finally, 400 meters uphill, switch back, we’ll take us to Laguna de los Tres, where we’ll see “El Fitz” in its best! (Weather permitting). Estimated time: According to fitness of the group, 8 to 10 hours round trip. 28 km and an elevation gain of 800 meters. (It worth it)
