Laguna Torre day hike

Laguna Torre (Cerro Look-out)

One beautiful day hike to get used to the terrain and the area. Beech forest where, if we are lucky, we could see a Magellanic wood Peker. After hiking for an hour and a half we reach Cerro Torre look out. Strike 2800 meters granite needle with an ice mushroom on top. From there on we have another hour and half to reach the laterals and terminal moraine that contains Laguna Torre. A great Glacier Grande creation. It is also where Fitz Roy river gets born and if we are lucky we may see some torrent ducks playing in its white waters. 22 km round trip, altitude gain 300 meters (900 feet), 5 to 7 hour-hiking round trip.
