DAY-HIKE TO LAGUNA DE LOS TRES (CERRO FITZ ROY LOOK-OUT)
One of the most beautiful hikes, but more physically demanding. Main reason why most people come to this corner of the world: Cerro Fitz Roy or Chaltén (mountain that smokes or smoky mountain, as Tehuelches named her).
We set off from El Chaltén, and in about 30 to 45 minutes of hiking, we will reach Río de las Vueltas look-out.
1 hour of hiking takes us to Fitz Roy first look-outs and one more hour of hiking to Poincenot Campsite and Río Blanco Campsite (Cerro Fitz Roy base campsites).
Finally, a 400 meters uphill awaits us that will take us to Laguna de los Tres, where if weather allows us to, we’ll see “The Fitz” in its best!
