A very demanding day hike for the stronger hiker. Cerro Torre, Cerro Fitz Roy, Aguja Pollone among other views. They will take your breath away!
Start with 17 km- land transfer until Rio Electrico bridge. We start hiking on a mainly beautiful beech forested trail for about 2 hours reaching Piedra del Fraile Hut. (where D’Agostini priest camp 90 years ago). From there steep begins. 1000 meters up to Piedra Negra vivac on a scree, grass, marsh land. Then, 45 minutes more until the pass. Depending on conditions we might use crampons and/or rope up for the last little bit
Same way down. 1200 meters elevation gain and lost, 10 hours aprox.
